Warranties, payment and the small print

The answers customers ask for most. Anything not covered here, just call us.

  • What are the warranties?

    Service and repairs: all new replaced parts and labour carry a 6 month return-to-base warranty. Reconditioned engines: 6 months / 10,000 miles return to base, extendable to 12 months / 12,000 miles with our gold standard engine. Used parts carry a 30 day warranty.

  • Do I have to pay upfront or leave a deposit?

    No. You pay when you come to inspect and collect your engine or vehicle. Shipped items must be paid for before the shipment date.

  • Does a reconditioned engine need driving differently at first?

    Yes, it needs bedding in. Keep the revs as low as possible, check oil and water levels daily for the first week, and carry out an oil and filter service at 1,000 miles to validate the warranty.

  • Do you offer third-party labour warranty?

    No, unless agreed with a senior manager. All warranties are return to base at customer cost. Engine supplied and fitted by us: parts and labour, return to base. Engine bought from us and fitted elsewhere: product warranty only, and no third-party labour charges are paid, regardless of fault.

  • Do you do MOT tests?

    We use a third-party MOT test centre for all MOT work and carry out a pre-MOT check ourselves.

  • Can you recondition older car engines?

    We do not work on classic cars, but we have contacts who do. Our cheapest reconditioned engine is £2,300, so if your vehicle is worth less than that we would recommend finding a used engine.

  • Can you ship overseas?

    No, we do not ship overseas.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    Debit card, bank transfer, cash, or credit card (subject to an admin fee, as credit cards go through a third-party payment provider). We are a UK limited company registered with Companies House and bank with Metro Bank.

  • Can I come and speak to you beforehand?

    Yes. Give us a call and we will arrange for you to visit us at our large workshop.

  • Can you collect my vehicle?

    Yes, we use third-party transportation firms. We can also pick you up and drop you off at Cardiff Central train station, a mile down the road.
